The Greek word, "pharmakeia" (strong's G5331) is typically translated into most English Bible Translations as "sorcery", "sorceries", "sorcerer", "sorcerers" or "witchcraft". The same Greek root word of pharmakeia produced English words such as "pharmacy" and "pharmacist". Ancient Greek uses of pharmakeia closely mirror the generic modern English word "drugs".

 

Pharmakeia has been reworded/redefined/repackaged over time, but its underlying meaning/intent/usage is still the same. Just like many other things, this should come as no surprise.

 

That which has been is that which will be [again],

Pharmakeia is found in the following passages of Scripture:
Galatians 5:20, Revelation 18:23, Revelation 9:21, Revelation 21:8, Revelation 22:15, 2 Kings 9:22, Isaiah 47:9, Isaiah 47:12, Micah 5:12

Pharmakeia is used for idolatry, recreation, and/or oppression/control (put people under an outside influence, bringing them into an altered state, so they can be manipulated, delusional, foolish, compliant, fearful, weak, sick, possessed, dead, etc). Some more obvious than others.

Pharmakeia continues pervasively today. Keep watch and be very discerning.
