Pledge Allegiance to God


CITIZENS OF GOD'S ETERNAL KINGDOM

Let us "Never Forget" The One Who Paid the Ultimate Price for our Lives/Freedom... Jesus the Christ.

Pledge Allegiance To God. His Will Be Done.




For there are many, of whom I have often told you, and now tell you even with tears, who live as enemies of the cross of Christ [rejecting and opposing His way of salvation], whose fate is destruction, whose god is their belly [their worldly appetite, their sensuality, their vanity], and whose glory is in their shame - who focus their mind on earthly and temporal things. But [we are different, because] our citizenship is in heaven. And from there we eagerly await [the coming of] the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;

 Do not love the world [of sin that opposes God and His precepts], nor the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the lust and sensual craving of the flesh and the lust and longing of the eyes and the boastful pride of life [pretentious confidence in one's resources or in the stability of earthly things] - these do not come from the Father, but are from the world. God Doesn't Need Our Help, But He Desires Our Participation




An Excerpt from Revolution in World Missions by K.P. Yohannan

Be a Servant to God - It is a Privilege (ch.7, pp.74-75)

With a start, I began to tremble with fear. Suddenly I felt the presence of someone else. I realized that the Spirit of the Lord was speaking.

"I am not in any trouble," He chided, "that I need someone to beg for Me or help Me out. I made no promises that I will not keep. It is not the largeness of the work that matters, but only doing what I command. All I ask of you is that you be a servant. For all who join with you in the work, it will be a privilege - a light burden for them."

The words echoed in my mind. This is His work, I told myself. Why am I making it mine? The burden is light. Why am I making it heavy? The work is a privilege. Why am I making it a chore?

I instantly repented of my sinful attitudes. God was sharing His work with me, and He was speaking of others who would join me. Although I still was doing the work alone, it was exciting to think others would be joining with me and that they too would find the burden to be light. From that moment until this, I have not been overpowered by the burden of heading Gospel for Asia. I find building this mission an exciting, joyful job. Even my preaching has changed. My posture is different. Today the pressure is gone. No more do I feel I have to beg audiences or make them feel guilty.

Because the work of Gospel for Asia - and the whole indigenous missionary movement - is initiated by God, it does not need the worries and guidance of man. Whether our goal is to support 10,000 or 10 million missionaries, whether it is working in 10 states or 100, or whether I must supervise a staff of 5 or 500, I still can approach this work without stress. For this is His work, and our burden is easy.

Integrity or Not at All (ch.7, p.77)

I now realize we had gone through one of the greatest tests of the ministry. This was it, my first chance to get a major increase in donors and income - but it had to be done with integrity or not at all.

Scripture versus Interpretation

SCRIPTURE VERSUS INTERPRETATION


Always be sure to examine Scripture carefully to differentiate the actual meaning of God's Words versus our interpretations. The proper approach to Scripture (since it is God's infallible Word) is to ask yourself, "Since Scripture cannot be in error, is my understanding of Scripture in error?"

First, a prayer... Thank You Father for Who You Are, and sharing Yourself with us. Please enable us to understand what You're saying & apply Your Word to our lives.

BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY VS CULTURAL CHRISTIANITY


"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?' And then I will declare to them publicly, 'I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].'
~Matthew 7:21-23




"But as for the cowards and unbelieving and abominable [who are devoid of character and personal integrity and practice or tolerate immorality], and murderers, and sorcerers [with intoxicating drugs], and idolaters and occultists [who practice and teach false religions], and all the liars [who knowingly deceive and twist truth], their part will be in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Discernment

HEAVENLY FATHER  JESUS CHRIST  HOLY SPIRIT

DISCERNMENT

Whoever is [spiritually] wise, let him understand these things;
Whoever is [spiritually] discerning and understanding, let him know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
And the righteous will walk in them,
But transgressors will stumble and fall in them.
~Hosea 14:9

Discernment: Making a distinction between God's Spiritual Truths and ungodly errors/lies.

We cannot be truly discerning without developing the skill of separating God's Divine Truth from errors/lies. Discernment is painting an issue in black and white and refusing to use shades of gray (errors/lies mixed with truth).

But test all things carefully [so you can recognize what is good]. Hold firmly to that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil [withdraw and keep away from it].

People have gotten away from discernment. We need to line up our experiences, thoughts, words, emotions and feelings to the Bible's Truths. This also is the case in regards to people, messages, topics, events, news, what you read/watch/hear/do, etc. If we do not follow our Owners Manual (Holy Scripture), we will be led astray into all sorts of disastrous consequences (in church/fellowships, business/work, family/friends, health/well-being, activities, etc). Be sure to check what a person (or any other created thing) says against what Scripture literally says/means, before it is to believed.

If we read the Bible, study the Bible, talk/debate/pray with other Holy Spirit filled followers of Jesus, and pray/talk with God; He will enable us to make a distinction between truth and errors/lies. We will know what is of God (truth) and what is of the flesh, the world and the enemy (errors/lies).

But if is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God [revealing His plan of salvation], and righteousness [making us acceptable to God], and sanctification [making us holy and setting us apart for God], and redemption [providing our ransom from the penalty for sin], so then, as it is written [in Scripture], "He who boasts and glories, let him boast and glory in the Lord."

Sit back, reflect, analyze, debate, read/study Scripture and pray to God for discernment. These events in Acts 15:1-35 clearly demonstrate this.

Father Jesus Holy Spirit, bless us with Your Ways, Your Truths, Your Life. Empower us with Discernment.
